HOUSE FOR AN ARTIST
Proposal for a private residence and workshop for an artist.
The house’s geometry develops around the central workshop thought of as a tranquil and luminous space, encouraging and sustaining the creative process of the artist. A hierarchy exists between the surrounding spaces and the workshop, both in plan and in section, emphasizing the central character of the latter.
The walls of the house open themselves progressively as we advance from the entrance to the back garden and from exterior to interior, with respect to the function of each space. This transparency offers the house a fluid and open character, enhanced by the abundance of light and at the same time creates continuity and a dialogue between spaces.
The white treatment of the walls adds to the serenity of the house with the difference that brick was used at the exterior conferring the house with a sense of place
