Renovation of a private residence.

C&T’s Residence is a heavy renovation of a Brussels row house, conceived as a full-envelope upgrade where spatial clarity and building performance were developed together.
The intervention re-structures the domestic sequence and daylight strategy while integrating a coherent technical concept, aiming for robust everyday comfort and durable detailing within the constraints of an existing urban fabric.
Material choices prioritize bio-based and durable assemblies, developed with Natura Mater support for sustainable specifications.

Comfort & systems strategy

– Envelope upgrade to PEB level B+.
– Ventilation: balanced ventilation (System D) with heat recovery (>85%) and summer bypass.
– Heating: air-water heat pump feeding low-temperature underfloor heating and radiators.
– Solar control: outside screens to mitigate summer overheating risk.
– Renewables: photovoltaic installation.
– Rainwater: new rainwater cistern + raintwater reutilisation.
